1st Kingsdown Scout Group

Uniform

The Scout Association is a uniformed Association, this means that the majority of our members wear uniform. This includes all Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers.

Beavers and Cubs are required to wear a jumper, all of the badges are sewn on to their jumpers in order to display all of the hard work that they have done. It also allows them to wear their group identity with pride through their badges.

Scouts and Explorers wear a shirt, onto which their badges are sewn to demonstrate their hard work and their group identity. The shirts allow them to look smart at events, set an example for the younger members of the association and represent their selves, groups, districts and the association.

All ages wear navy blue trousers, these can be purchased from any clothing retailer. They are needed for formal occasions so please ensure that they are smart, also the Scout Association has designed activity and smart trousers for all occasions that can be purchased. Jeans are not deemed appropriate, however smart they may be.

Every member is given their group scarf and badges when they are invested to the unit. Our group scarf is yellow, every member of 1st Kingsdown wears a yellow scarf, to show that they have taken their promise and have agreed to the Scout ethos. The scarf should be rolled and held together with a woggle or with a friendship knot.

Uniform can be purchased from a number of different retailers, such as the Scout online shopOne Stop Scouting, John Lewis or Longfield Wools.
