We are delighted that your child has shown an interest in joining us at 1st Kingsdown Scout Group. Scouting offers a great deal to all involved and provides many opportunities that are often out of reach for many. This page hopes to offer some information that will help with the joining of 1st Kingsdown.
We are a very active group and venture to activities all over the place, ensure to contact us at 1stkingsdowngroup@gmail.com to find out specific meeting times and to give us a heads up that you will be joining us!!
Joining Information
It is vital that we have your contact details before your child joins us at 1st Kingsdown. This must be handed to the section leader upon arrival at the meeting by the parent/carer. Please come and say hello to us, introduce yourself and your child and get to know a little about the group .... we are approachable, we don't bite!!
The majority of our contact is done via email, it is really important that you provide us with current contact details.
Monthly Subscriptions
Every member of 1st Kingsdown is asked to pay a monthly subscription of £16, this is paid by direct debit or pay now facility through Online Scout Manager System . This contributes to the costs of the group, including running and maintaining the hut, the mini-bus, the insurance of the group and the costs of some of the activities. . For insurance purposes it is vital that this is completed within a month of your child joining. Please also complete the Gift Aid section, this is vital fundraising for the group.

Fundraising
It is crucial that all young people and parents/carers contribute to the fundraising and maintenance efforts of the group.
Fundraising must be completed each year to ensure that we are able to cover all overheads and enhance the activities that we are able to run for the young people in our group.
Maintenance is essential to keep our hut and grounds safe for everyone.
We work together as a team, all members/parents/carers/leaders.....
